Two researchers, one question: how should we question AI?

Ted Ladd

Ted Ladd

Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Hult International Business School and Instructor of Platform Entrepreneurship at Harvard University

Ted Ladd is a professor of business strategy and AI at Harvard, Babson, and Hult, and a Forbes contributor, where he writes an ongoing Skeptical Intelligence series. At Hult, he previously served as Dean of the San Francisco campus and founding Academic Director of the Doctorate in Business Administration. Skeptical Intelligence is the decision framework at the center of his forthcoming book of the same name, co-authored with Priyanka Shrivastava, building on his most recent book, Innovating with Impact, published by The Economist.

His work is aimed at practitioners — platform architects, AI deployment leads, and MBA students — who need a disciplined method for evaluating AI adoption decisions, not another framework for framework's sake.

Priyanka Shrivastava

Priyanka Shrivastava

Professor of Marketing & Analytics and Associate Dean, DBA, Hult International Business School

Priyanka Shrivastava is a professor of marketing and analytics and Associate Dean of the Doctorate in Business Administration at Hult International Business School, and a senior executive fellow at The Digital Economist in Washington, DC. Her research applies advanced modeling to customer experience and data-driven decision-making, and currently examines how artificial intelligence can support sustainable business practice — alongside a research interest in integrating yoga and mindfulness into leadership.

She has held faculty appointments at the National University of Singapore and Saint Mary's College of California, and holds a PhD from Aligarh Muslim University and a professional degree in Business Analytics from UC Berkeley.

Together

Ted Ladd and Priyanka Shrivastava began collaborating on skeptical intelligence after noticing the same gap from different angles: general advice to "think critically" gave teams no way to decide how much scrutiny an AI-generated answer actually deserved. Skeptical Intelligence is the result of that collaboration — part research synthesis, part field guide for anyone whose work now runs through an AI-mediated pipeline.
